Amerikazentrum Lecture/Discussion Invitation: June 6th 19h

INVITATION Lecture / Discussion on ‘ The Debate about Food Issues in the U.S. ‘ by Mr. Jerry Hagstrom Amerikazentrum, Am Sandtorkai 48, 20457 Hamburg on Monday, June 6, 19:00. The discussion about the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) has raised the issue of food safety on both sides of the Atlantic.  There is little knowledge in Europa about the nature and political thrust of the debate in the U.S.  The implementation of the 2011 Food Safety Modernization Act remains a subject of ongoing discussion. There is a vigorous debate whether food with genetically modified ingredients should be labelled, and which level of government should take the lead.  The debate has gained salience as some states are requiring mandatory labelling of GMO foods while there are other initiatives on the federal level.  Some of the compromise solutions may be of interest to European regulators and consumers and may have relevance for transatlantic negotiations.  There is al

Dear Students, On May 25th Ms. Swanson will be teaching class at Gymnasium Hamm at 16:30. We will be working on our yearbook so make sure you bring what you have worked on so far! Your third trimester begins on June 1st with Ms. Thomas. June Saturday outing will be with Ms. Swanson on  June 11th.  More details are to come soon! She will teach you up until July 20th, when your summer break starts. More info to come later on your July outing!
